Boxer is no-show at hearing

On May 20, 2003 Sharon Liko was featured in Rocky Mountain News relating to her representation of Denver boxer Stevie Johnston. Stevie Johnston was in legal trouble after failing to pay child support for his four children.

Johnston's jail time concluding

Sharon Liko’s representation of a Denver couple, who sued University Hospital, was featured in the Denver Post on September 11, 1992. On behalf of the couple, Liko filed suit against University Hospital after hospital employees allegedly dumped the cremated remains of the couple’s baby in a landfill. The suit sought unspecified damages citing negligence, negligent misrepresentation, breach of contract, outrageous conduct, and violation of civil rights.

Boxer avoids jail by promising next purse

As indicated in Rocky Mountain News, Attorney Sharon Liko assisted former world lightweight champion boxer, Stevie Johnston, avoid an 18-month jail sentence for contempt of court following a failure to pay child support. Sharon Liko stated the 18-month jail sentence would’ve ruined his career. His manager thinks he has a couple of years left.

Fighter agrees to use earnings to pay child support

In March of 2002, Rocky Mountain News featured the release of a professional boxer, Stevie Johnston. Sharon Liko negotiated Johnston’s release by agreeing he would pay some of the overdue child support with the proceeds of an upcoming boxing match.
